Challenge

Worldwide Golf and GlobalGolf served a customer who often researches products before buying, but the affiliate partner mix was heavily weighted toward coupon and loyalty. Those partners can help close a sale, but the program needed more relationships that created discovery and influenced product choice earlier in the journey. Traffic was flat and conversion stood at 0.68%. The opportunity was to build a partner mix that matched the way golfers compare clubs, equipment, and accessories before purchase.

Approach

We prioritized golf publishers, equipment reviewers, and creators whose audiences already trusted their recommendations. Recruitment focused on content that could explain product differences, answer buying questions, and remain useful beyond a single promotion. Commission rates were adjusted to better reward partners creating demand, while product data and deep-linking support made it easier to send readers directly to the exact model featured in a review or guide.

The Results

By the end of the engagement, editorial and creator partnerships produced 48% of affiliate revenue. Traffic grew 35% year over year, conversion improved from 0.68% to 1.24%, annual program revenue passed $5.4M, and overall program growth reached 28%. The result was not only more revenue. The program developed a healthier mix of partners that could introduce products, support research, and influence purchase decisions before the final click.
